Welcome, I’m Sarah

I am a fully qualified counsellor with a Bachelor of Health Science in Counselling (BHSc) and Membership with New Zealand Association of Counsellors (NZAC).

I have a wealth of experience supporting people across a wide range of life challenges. Alongside my professional training, I bring a deep respect for lived experience of both my own and that of the people I have trained and worked with.

I am a Mum to two beautiful children and have navigated divorce and the pain that comes with it. I have also navigated pregnancy loss, grief, addiction and the complexities of a blended family. Through this time and through many of the bumpy roads that have landed me here today, I found solace in the therapy room - a space where I could be unapologetically me and share everything that was happening in my life and have a confidential safe space to do so. It is an absolute privilege that I am now able to pay it forward in the work that I do today.

My life experiences, while often harrowing at the time have allowed me to step into this space with warmth, humility, and realism. I understand how complex change can be, and I hold a strong belief in people’s capacity to heal when they are met with care, honesty, and consistency with a dose of raw and real therapeutic alliance.

What You Can Expect

  • Confidential and professional

  • Collaborative rather than directive

  • Gentle, but not superficial

  • Grounded in respect, ethics, and care

  • I will always meet you where you are at

Our sessions are a place where you do not have to explain yourself away or minimise your experience.
You are welcome exactly as you are.

Taking the First Step
Beginning counselling can feel daunting. Reaching out does not mean something is wrong with you, it means you are paying attention to yourself.

If you are considering counselling and would like to learn more, I invite you to get in touch. We can discuss what you are looking for and whether this space feels right for you.

Narrative Therapy

Narrative therapy invites us to gently step back from the problem and explore the stories you’ve been living by. Together, we uncover strengths, values, and alternative narratives that honour who you are beyond what you’ve been through.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

CBT helps you understand how your thoughts, emotions, and behaviours interact and how small, practical shifts can create meaningful change. It’s especially helpful for anxiety, low mood, habits, and patterns that feel hard to break.

Person Centred

At the heart of my work is a deeply respectful, non-judgemental relationship. Person-centred therapy creates a safe space where you are heard, understood, and accepted—allowing growth, insight, and change to emerge at your own pace.

Psycho-Education

Not only a place to share and feel seen, we also work to understand the ‘why’ behind certain behaviours. My training in this field will help you understand your actions more deeply.
